Most Toronto photographers deliver a full wedding gallery within 4 to 8 weeks. Some take longer, a few promise days and miss. Here's what actually determines the wait, and what you should expect from whoever you book.
Quick Answers:
- Typical turnaround: 4 to 8 weeks for a full wedding gallery
- Sneak peeks: a small set within 24-48 hours is a fair ask
- Corporate events: same-day selects are a normal request
- Parties: usually 1 -3 weeks
- Whatever the promise, get it in writing
Why editing takes as long as it takes
A full wedding day produces 2,500 to over 6,000 frames. Some weddings, depending on the size, can produce over 10,000 images! Culling that down to the few hundred worth your wall takes hours; editing the keepers takes longer. A photographer who promises a 4,000-photo gallery in three days is either delivering unedited files or not sleeping. The honest math for a full day is roughly twenty actual hours of work after the day itself.
What you should ask for, and expect
Sneak peeks within two days: a small set while the weekend is still what everyone's texting about. My couples get a black-and-white set the morning after. The full gallery: within 30 days from me for weddings, usually sooner, delivered in a private online gallery you can share with family.
Parties and corporate events move faster
There's less to cull and the photos often have a job to do while the event is still news. Party galleries typically land within one to three weeks. For parties my turnaround is under a week. I like to work fast and get you files while the buzz from the event is still buzzing. For corporate clients, same-day selects — a hand-picked set delivered before the closing session — are a standard request and worth asking for explicitly.
Get the date in writing
Whatever the promise, the contract should state it. "Within 30 days" in writing beats "usually pretty quick" said warmly.
